5 Features to Look for When Buying at Yacht

Buying a yacht is like buying a house; it’s a huge investment. However, with a house you can do some major remodeling, with a yacht your options are limited… plus if you’re going to pay the amount of money it ordinarily costs to buy a yacht, why wouldn’t you want it to include most already -if not all – the features you’re looking for?

It’s important to consider what you intend to do on your yacht – apart from relaxing of course! – Because that might impact the kind of features, you favor over others. After you’ve given some thought to your lifestyle and how a yacht would best fit, here are some features you ought to consider when investing in a boat!

Beach club

Beach clubs started as a flat multi-purpose space toward the back of the boat that was level with the water. However, now beach clubs have gone to upper decks as well.

If you intend to spend a lot of time lounging or partying, then a beach club is a valuable space to have on a yacht. It allows you and your guests to enjoy the sun and the surf all while eating, drinking, or dancing!

Jacuzzis are great for relaxation. And the only thing more relaxing than a jacuzzi on its own is a jacuzzi on a yacht. There’s nothing better than relaxing your muscles in a jacuzzi after a long day of snorkeling.

Interior detailing

While the interior of a boat is something you can always change around, you should consider how the interior looks before you buy a yacht. A lot of yachts are detailed with leather and suede similar to how a car is detailed. The walls are usually detailed as well.

Make sure the detailing is something you like or can be changed easily to your liking before you buy, or else you might end up hating being inside your own boat!

Additionally, make sure there’s enough lighting. Rewiring a house is difficult, but it’s much easier than rewiring the walls in your boat.

The Kitchen

While most people do choose to disembark to eat wherever their boat is docked, a good kitchen is essential on a yacht. Even if it’s not the most extravagant, make sure that you have amiable space to store and make food.

If you’re a foodie, you may want to consider a yacht with a bigger kitchen. If you plan on doing a lot of entertaining you need to make sure that your yacht can accommodate that.

While we’re on the topic of food, having a grill on board may be important to you. Why would you always want to cook inside when you could be grilling out on the deck with spectacular views of the ocean?

Consider finding a boat with a barbeque on board or at least the space for one!

Wheelchair accessible

One of the most important things is that you and your loved ones can move around your boat. If you or if you have a family member who is disabled you may want to opt for a boat with wide hallways and bigger spaces. Yachts can be built in a way where the corridors are narrow, so try to find one with wide hallways if you or a loved one expect to be rolling through in a wheelchair.
